Sr. Business Systems Analyst

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor degree in Information Systems, Business or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of systems/business analysis experience; or, a combination of business experience (financial services or securities) and information technology experience required; 7 years of systems/business analysis experience preferred.
  • Experience with EAGLE Investment Systems required.
  • Experience working with relational databases writing Structured Query Language (SQL) required.
  • Knowledge of mutual funds, securities and/or financial accounting preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem solving abilities within an IT organization required.

MAJOR DUTIES:
  • Solves business problems by performing business analysis, preparing specifications and/or designs, providing project management, and testing, as needed, for relevant business process modifications, applications, and/or reporting enhancements.
  • Initiates and performs analysis of Investment Management Operations functions and systems, including those involving Eagle and downstream Order Management Systems.
  • Works collaboratively with the business unit (Investment Management Operations) to define business objectives and requirements and provide consultative support as needed regarding applications and business processes
  • Analyzes and specifies logical data models, workflows, wireframes and/or other types of designs for relatively smaller systems or components of a larger system
  • Prepares business and functional requirements documents and reviews functional system designs of significant complexity
  • Works with technical and development staff to conduct unit, system, and user acceptance testing. This includes developing and publishing test specifications, preparing test data, and creating user acceptance testing documents
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all reporting functions and system controls.  This includes Knowledge Base articles for support issues and all required documentation as outlined in Federated Hermes’ Software Development Lifecycle Process.
  • Provides customer support with the highest level of commitment and effectiveness
  • Mentors’ other business analysts and provide guidance to the Investment Management Operations team
