Cisco Voice Network Design Engineer

Hazlet, NJ
A leading- and cutting-edge financial services business now requires an experienced Network Design Engineer / Network Architect. The successful candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced design and project delivery function utilizing the best breed of emerging technologies. We are seeking strong design and problem-solving experience.

The role will be taking the existing guides that are in place, taking high-level requirements and creating the architecture/technical design and then deploying/implementing.

Desired experience and qualifications:
  • Either Professional Services/Blue Chip/Global company experience
  • Financial services / Investment banking experience a must
  • Several years of experience in delivering complex solutions in enterprise scale environments
  • Cisco certified - Minimum CCNP Voice
  • Routing Protocols - BGP, OSPF,
  • IP Security, VOIP, IP Services, SIP, RTP, OSPF, NAT, QOS
  • Understanding of SIP signaling
  • Cisco voice gateways, gatekeepers, & IOS Cisco Unified Communications Manager (9.0 +)
  • Cisco CUBE (Cisco Unified Border Element)
  • Sonus
  • Dealer board technologies
  • Ethernet Switching
  • Visio/Excel
  • Cisco Unified call Manager
 
Responsibilities:
  • Provide engineering design and support of Data Center and Client edge VOIP network Environment
  • Lead, Manage, and Participate in project implementation
  • Provide effective engineering by demonstrating ownership and accountability for all assigned tasks and projects
  • Partner with Infrastructure Leads, and third-party service providers in the conception, evaluation, piloting, engineering and operational delivery of solutions for the organization
  • Define, document and adhere to technical and operational standards
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation (e.g. standards, process, Method of Procedures,)
  • Ensure all tasks are completed with high quality and timely execution
  • Strive for best in class teamwork by regularly stretching and consistently measuring execution to a high bar
  • Provide input and participate in strategic planning sessions
  • Provide technical leadership to peers and junior personnel within Infrastructure Engineering
  • Provide forward thinking and be agile in adopting new technologies to meet evolving business requirements
