Sr Storage Engineer/ Architect
Great River, NYOur client is seeking a Sr Storage expert Engineer/Architect for a direct perm opportunity.
You will be working for a prestigious financial company located in the Tri- State area.
Hybrid work schedule (3 days a week in office).
The person needs strong strategic, communication and leadership skills. Must have a proactive mindset and willingness to work with other teams. Mentor, train and lead the storage area. Full understanding of storage -migration and implementation knowledge a must.

- Strong knowledge of IBM ESS Storage.
- Knowledge of ESS clusters.
- GPFS environment experience around migrations a must.
- Previous experience working with companies that utilize GPFS.
- Strong knowledge of Linux RedHat.
- Spearheaded implementation, migration and replication projects in various storage –(IBM, Pure, NetAPP).
- Led storage improvement initiatives.
- Oversee design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of power and storage systems for critical, 24/7 applications.
- Guide direction of storage environment, delegating tasks to team members as necessary.
- Work closely with Portfolio managers to review and manage technical requirements and business functional requirements.
- Collaborate with System Administration, Database Administration, Network Administration, Information Security, and other stakeholders to plan and execute enhancements of major application systems.
- Strategize with senior management to determine monthly capacity planning, current & future storage needs, and data protection solutions.
- Liaise with external vendors, including Netapp, Pure Storage, IBM, and Microsoft to ensure all proposed solutions are within designated capital and operational budgets.
- Lead technical discussions with senior executives that drive decisions and implementation approaches.
- Leads API strategies, Deployment Strategies, adoption of modern cloud native architecture patterns.
- Demonstrate continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for improvement and organize efforts/team members needed to address the areas of improvement.
- Remain current on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- 10+ years of proven experience in enterprise storage within financial industry.
- Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure solutions, on-premises and cloud hosting platforms centered around data center storage and networking.
- Certifications highly desired
