Senior Robotic Automation Engineer

We are a medical device company pioneering innovative next-generation treatment devices for personal health monitoring. The Senior Automation Engineer directly supports Manufacturing Development Engineering with the committed goal of filling the product pipeline. The primary responsibilities of the position include conceptual development through the design and build completion of robotic cells and lines, automation and robotic programming, and the design of mechanical parts and assemblies based on specific requirements and practical design considerations.

Essential Functions
  • Manufacturing automation and robotic process development and deployment
  • Design prototype and manufacturing fixtures using SolidWorks 3D and AutoCAD.
  • Assist in the assembly and hook up manufacturing work centers in manufacturing area.
  • Change control of 3D models and technical drawings using the CCO system
  • Operate and maintain 3D printers.
  • Create and update component and manufacturing procedures through the Engineering Change Control process.
  • Draft and execute IQ/OQ/PQ to qualify production within a Medical Device GMP environment.
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance to the automation engineering team.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Competencies
  • Knowledge and prior experience in computer aided manufacturing automation
  • Highly competent in all aspects of robotic cell design, setup and programming
  • Experience with Epson and Fanuc robots and their programming software preferred.
  • Proficient in use of SolidWorks Computer Aided Design (CAD) software required to produce three-dimensional models and technical drawings.
  • Can create or be given a process/automation concept and quickly develop testing methods to provide proof of concept.
  • Experience with GMP manufacturing, design or/and construction, and documentation requirements
  • Possesses solid mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work most of the time independently with minimal direct supervision.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills with an ability to interact well with a variety of personalities, discipline skills and educational levels.
  • Demonstrate good organizational and time utilization skills.
  • Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to enhance the effectiveness of the automation team through leadership and technical expertise.

Required Education and Experience
  •  Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with professional experience and training commensurate with the position.
  • Minimum of 5 years applicable automation and/or instrument and control system experience
  • 5 years in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry/GMP experience preferred.
