IT Network Administrator - Direct Perm Position Summary The Network Engineer under the direction of the IT Director is responsible for Network and Communication Technical Support Services, Network Architecture and Engineering. This position also has various network related day to day maintenance responsibilities including datacenter and cabling support services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Configures and installs network equipment, phones, and other peripheral equipment as necessary.
Perform diagnostic tests on hardware/software to determine and resolve systems related problems.
Upgrade existing hardware by replacing and testing components to provide enhanced capabilities.
Perform a variety of general operational tasks.
Can spear head projects regardless of knowledge depth.
Maintain a positive attitude; demonstrate professionalism in behavior, dress, attendance, punctuality and courtesy towards patients and staff.
Support and maintain network and communication services and restrictions.
Performs IT functions as indicated by department guidelines and virtues.
Evaluates work environment to determine adequate technology usage and efficiencies.
Assists in vendor and contract management.
Assists in datacenter and office cabling management.
Has performed educational and certifications paths set forth by department.
Qualifications High School Graduate or equivalent.
Minimum of five (2-3) years of progressive computer hardware /software and networking experience.
Familiarity with Cisco routing and switching infrastructure.
Knowledge of communication provider services and technologies.
Knowledge of LAN/WAN infrastructure technologies and design methodologies.
Basic understanding of firewall technologies, design and implementation.
Understanding support services and technologies
Understanding wireless technologies.
Basic understanding of Data Center technologies including cable infrastructure.
Familiarity with network management applications, protocols and services.
Understanding TCP/IP and related protocol services.
Knowledge of cabling infrastructure technologies and implementations.
Familiarity with protocol sniffing and bandwidth management technologies.
Familiarity VOIP concepts and infrastructure design methodologies.
Familiarity with telephone, fax implementation and support services.
Physical Requirements Work can be generally sedentary but requires onsite client support depending on situation.
May occasionally be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Work sometimes requires cabling tracing and implementation.
Work requires ceiling and sheet rock penetrating for cabling services.
