Senior Architect/Director

This client is honored to have been named one of New Jersey's Top Workplaces for 2022! We are currently searching for a remote, Senior Architect Team Lead to complement their team.

Position Objective:

You will lead a dynamic team of software developers & development managers and will be responsible for delivering a new generation of SaaS solutions designed to meet the needs of today's businesses, built using the most modern technologies and development methodologies, providing an unparalleled level of agility, ease-of-use, and integration capability.

As the leader of this team, you will be responsible for the overall development life cycle, process, communication, collaboration, and people management.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

· Developing the long-term strategy for Product Delivery, Performance, Customer Satisfaction and Quality areas and translating that into an achievable roadmap/action plan Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments.

· Managing the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment.

· Working closely with software engineers, product managers, business stakeholders, and other managers to architect and develop the best technical designs and solutions.

· Hire, retain and motivate a team of talented, critical-thinking, and productive people.

· Champion continuous innovation and technology uptake leveraging data driven decision making process collaborating with stakeholders, peers, and team

Job Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline

· 10+ years of relevant engineering experience (Hands on coding preferred)

· Experience with Cloud architecture and PaaS services for Azure, AWS (preferred)

· Experience with Microsoft SQL server, Postgres and other RDMS.

· Experience with C#, Angular, TSQL

· Experience with Multi-tiered architecture and Micro / Macro services

· Experience with Service Stack .Net a plus

· 6+ years people management experience or relevant leadership experience

· Good understanding of all aspects of software engineering, including coding, architecture, testing and the relevant trade-offs required for decision making

· Experience with managing the day-to-day activities of an engineering team using Agile/Scrum processes

· Demonstrated ability to attract/recruit/retain external talent and be a coach and employee champion

· Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests and recommend alternative technical and business approaches.

· High level of energy, ability to manage and gain respect among peers, team, and other stakeholders; be a charismatic motivator and thought leader in the organization

· Entrepreneurial, strategic thinker with the ability to move and act at the operational and tactical levels when required.

· Experience building complex SaaS, enterprise class high volume transactional system that have been successfully delivered to large customers from initiation to support

· Superior organizational and planning skills, written/verbal presentation, and the ability to present complex technical information, in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, in large and small groups

· Skills and personality to operate effectively in a fast-paced complex business

Problem Solving:

· Able to work independently as well as part of a team

· Able to identify solutions to problems as they occur

· Able to work with limited supervision to complete tasks.

· Able to correlate multiple sets of data during an investigation.

· Able to translate technical topics to non-technical users

· Able to multi-task and shift priorities based on current workload.

 

Job Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in the field of Information Technology, Information Security, Computer Science, or other related academic fields.

· Master’s Degree a plus

· 10 years of relevant work experience building software (Hands on coding preferred).
