IT Systems Architect (AIX, Unix, Linux)

Our client is looking for a IT Systems Architect for a full-time permanent position.  

Position Description Serves as an expert in all aspects of managing and maintaining complex Unix, Linux, and AIX environments throughout the Health System. Designs and Implements new technologies and maintains existing physical and virtual environments. Responsible for Unix/AIX architecture planning while working with Technical Services team to develop plans for implementing new (or expanded) RedHat environment(s). Serves as liaison to service providers for implementations (Server, Storage, & Network teams). Participates in on-call rotation for emergency response to correct system failures and general level-3 support for AIX/Unix services. Assists in the creation of standard processes, procedures, and quality-assurance documentation. Recommends, architects, and delivers highly reliable, cost effective technology solutions. Serves as technical project leader for mid to large scale projects. Identifies problems and recommends corrective actions. Ensures audit standards are met. Communicates highly technical information in a clear and concise manner. Collaborates with other IT teams to engineer, procure, and implement an IT monitoring solution of infrastructure equipment/systems to identify potential issues/proactive resolution. Minimum Requirements: - At least 7 years' experience with system administration experience on UNIX operating systems AIX, Solaris, RedHat, preferably in a healthcare environment. - At least 5 years' experience with AIX Cluster, AIX Server Build, NIM/OS Recovery, VIO/LPAR, RHEL Server Build, and network technology (NIC configuration for NIB & aggregate settings); hands-on troubleshooting, tuning and patching, and project management. - At least 3 years' experience with system administration experience on UNIX operating systems. - Experience in an Epic EMR provider environment preferred. - RHC - Red Hat Certification preferred. - Completed training course for Power Systems for AIX I- LPAR Configuration and Planning and/or Power Systems for AIX II - Implementation and Administration preferred. - A Bachelor's Degree in MIS, EE, Telecommunications, or related field (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
