We are in search of a Database Administrator Team Lead with an expertise in PowerShell & T-SQL to help supplement the growth & scaling of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 2 on-shore and several off-shore DBA’s in day-to-day tasks and projects
- Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resource contention
- Provides application support for software running in production
- Monitors tools and proactively helps teams struggling with system issues
- Build and maintain operations tools for monitoring, notifications, trending, and analysis
- Participate in root cause analysis, debugging, support, and post-mortem analysis for production incidents and service interruptions
- Research and recommend third party tools to aid in monitoring, data protection, troubleshooting, and performance
- Analyze trends in system utilization to predict future growth for capacity planning purposes
- Ability to roll T-SQL into PowerShell scripts and assist deployment team with automation tasks surrounding SQL
- Troubleshoot server and application issues utilizing event logs, application and IIS logs, network monitoring tools, and SQL Profiler
- Creates system documentation and diagrams
- Maintains detailed documentation of all job functions for use as reference material
- Install and configure SQL Server including high availability using AlwaysOn Availability Groups
- Experience with Windows Server Failover Clustering
- Install OS updates/hotfixes/patches/service pack
- Design, build and maintain infrastructure on AWS environment
- Initiative and a strong desire to work for a fast-paced dynamic organization
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field OR current IT Certification Status
- Advanced understanding of SQL Server
- Experience supporting IIS servers and .Net applications
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and debugging
- Participate in on-call rotation
- 2-5 years’ experience in Windows SQL Server
- Flexibility to work outside of normal operating hours when requested
- Ability to be given a task or project and see it through to completion in the time estimated
