F5 BIG-IP Engineer

Job Description:
  • Perform hardware refresh of existing F5 BIG-IP LTM and GTM physical appliances in multiple data centers globally, pre-production and Production / DR environments
  • Plan, Design, Develop, Implement and Operate F5 LTM, GTM, and BIG-IQ appliances clusters – both physical and virtual in new data centers including migration effort from existing data centers
  • Manage the configuration on multiple physical and virtual F5 appliances across multiple data centers
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate configuration of applications distributed across multiple data centers
  • Propose and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance, security and reliability of the F5 infrastructure
  • Provide tier 3 F5 support as needed
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, telecommunications, or an engineering focused field
  • Required: 5+ years of relevant experiences with F5 GTM, LTM, ASM, BIG-IQ, and APM implementation, engineering, administration and life cycle management including advanced iRule/iQuery and troubleshooting
  • Required: design, build and configure F5 Virtual Editions on virtual infrastructure (VMWare NSX-T) and public clouds (AWS / GCP)
  • Required: ability to handle multiple complex F5 configurations and deployments at once
  • Required: good overall TCP/IP networking background with an understanding of routing & switching protocols as well as application layer protocols background with DNS
  • Required: advanced skills of designing, coding, and troubleshooting iRules and iControls
  • Required: understanding of the different load balancing options & features to include OneConnect, Persistence, SSL client / server profiles, HTTP profiles
  • Required: must have a solid understanding of web application load balancing configuration along with sizing and capacity planning based on a high availability and DR design
  • Required: excellent experience in automation and scripting in F5 appliances management and configuration
  • Ability to communication clearly in verbal and written communication and strong system design/documentation skills
  • Experience with other public cloud load balancing technologies
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Communicator, Word, Excel, and SharePoint)
  • Process Improvement experience
