Project Manager

Fairfield, NJ

Scope: The Project Manager is responsible for managing cross functional teams to deliver complex projects that meet project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. The Project Manager accomplishes this by resourcing the project (with internal or external resources), ensuring deadlines are met, coaching staff, problem solving, and overall financial accountability of the profit and loss of their projects.

Reports To:

Classification: Exempt

Hours: Mon-Fri (may vary based on project needs)

Supervisory Responsibility: Designers, Engineers, and Associate Project Managers

 

Essential Job Functions:

· Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion

· Direct and manage project development and lifecycle from start to finish for the timely completion of design projects and services

· Define project scope, schedule, cost, resources, quality, forecasts (including financial) and deliverables in collaboration with customers and management

· Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and devise contingency plans

· Supervise, manage, and motivate project team members and subconsultants to ensure completion of tasks, resourcefulness and problem solving for their assigned work

· Serve as main point of contact for client on assigned projects and assist Associate Project Managers with their assigned projects, as well as manage financial aspects of projects

· Build, develop and grow client and vendor business relationships vital to project success

· Consistently seeking sales and business development opportunities by fostering potential clients and maintaining existing client satisfaction

· Exhibit persuasive as well as informative communication skills with complex client scenarios

· Conduct project reviews and create recommendations to identify successful, risky, and unsuccessful project elements

· Demonstrate practices and behaviors in accordance with applicable laws, codes, and standards

· Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining customer confidentiality

· Valid driver’s license required

 

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor's degree is required in Structural or Civil Engineering

· 8-10 years of experience with architectural, civil, structural, or telecommunications design is recommended

· 2-5 years of Project Management experience is required

· Experience managing and training staff is required

· Professional Engineering License is preferred

· Experience with financial accountability is preferred

· Specific experience with Telecommunications projects or clients is preferred

· Small Cell telecommunications design experience is preferred

· Electric Vehicle Charging Station design experience is preferred

· Must be experienced with Microsoft Office suite

· Proficiency with AutoCAD is preferred

· Experience with project management tools and structural analysis software is a plus

· A solid understanding of codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, and TIA and others is preferred

 

Physical Demands:

Occasionally the employee will need to visit sites that include rooftop access while lifting and/or moving equipment up to 25 lbs.
