Position: Systems Administrator

Web and Infrastructure Services Support

The successful candidate will interface with multiple disciplines, including Incident, Problem and Change Management, Platform Engineering, Network Operations, Storage Operations, Relationship Managers, Service Providers, vendors and various business contacts, in support of domestic and international locations.
The Systems Administrator maintains all critical IT Infrastructure, including mobile device environment.  The role provides support to Helpdesk, Active Directory, Exchange email, file and system backups, and all types of data storage.
Daily Tasks:
The primary responsibilities include:
•           Provide onsite and remote server hardware, ESXi and Windows OSI support for 7x24 mission critical environments
•           Scripting skills (PowerShell, VBScript, PowerCLI, C, C#, WinBatch, Visual Studio, Perl, Python
•           Understanding of various deployment methodologies (virtual templates, MDT, Light Touch
•               Provide primary support for server infrastructure related incidents
•           Experience with some of the following vendor's hardware and monitoring platforms: Standalones, Blades; IBM (Director), HP (Systems Insight Mgr/OnView), Dell (Open Manage Essentials), Microsoft, Linux, VMWare (vCenter/VCOPS
•           Troubleshoot and resolve incidents reported into Global Business Availability Management (Priority 1,2 or 3)
•           Manage incident, problem and change queues as required
•           Maintain DNS, DHCP, AD and WINS (adds, deletes, modifies).
•           Perform server infrastructure upgrades and expansions as required
•           Provide directed 'hands-on' support for other technologies including Unix servers, NAS & storage devices, Network & Telecom equipment
•           Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and testing efforts.
•           Interact with internal groups and vendor support staff to troubleshoot problems and perform root cause analysis as required
•           Adhere to standard operating procedures and protocols
•           Lead projects as required
•           Create and update documentation relating to current and new team processes
•           Support on and off premise server infrastructure offerings
•           Work independently as needed
  • Work schedule will be 11am to 7pm Mon-Fri (EST)
  • Minimum 4 years supporting Windows and Linux Server environments
  • Experience building and supporting cloud servers (Azure, AWS, Google, etc.)
  • Scripting/programming abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills within the Windows environment
  • Understanding of Microsoft Windows Server technologies - Active Directory, WINS, DNS, Windows Domain Controllers, as well as managing users and permissions
  • Understanding of virtual environments (VMWare/ESX)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a highly active, fast paced production environment, to meet critical deadlines and SLA's
  • Bachelor's Degree is a plus, preferably in Computer Science or Information Systems
