Our client has been providing Technology Solutions to our clients in the New York / New Jersey Metropolitan area for over 30 years. 

The Security Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, evaluation and implementation of Solutions (integration of products and services) within the Security practice which solve the customer need as well as ensure the quality of the deliverables to the customer.  In addition, the Security Engineer will provide the support of internal client security infrastructure.

Practice Responsibilities
  1. Technical understanding of the solutions the practice group is bringing to market and how they differentiate Micro Strategies
  2. Assist in developing new solutions and maintain existing Micro Strategies’ solutions in market current by having the ability to tie the business needs of the customer to the features required to solve those needs
  3. Deep technical understanding the vendors/products that inform and/or make up the solutions
  4. Understanding the competitive landscape to illustrate why, technically, a specific vendors/products have been selected over others
  5. Assist in exploring new emerging vendors/products which may solve untapped business needs or enhance current solutions the PG has in market
  6. Support the Sales team on pre-sales engagements providing product demos and or Proof of Concepts for the solutions in the Security Portfolio
  7. Perform the implementation of the solutions at the customer locations and or remotely
  8. Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies and methods
  9. Experience designing secure networks, systems and application architectures
  10. Knowledge of disaster recovery, computer forensic tools, technologies and methods
  11. Experience planning, researching and developing security policies, standards and procedures
  12. Professional experience in a system administration role supporting multiple platforms and applications
  13. Ability to communicate network security issues to peers and management

Preferred Product Knowledge and Experience: 
  1. IBM Security Solution Suite with specific knowledge of BigFix, QRadar, Resilient, Guardium, MasS360
  2. Splunk
  3. Darktrace
  4. Experience in network security appliances: Firewall, IDS/IPS, Web-Proxy, Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware.
  5. Knowledge of the Security competitive landscape including  SIEM, End Point Management, Incident Response, Identity and Access Management, Security Intelligence, Cloud Security Services, and
Functional Competencies
  1. Strong communication skills – ability to effectively engage a range of roles and skills when communicating with a Client (Security, Networking and Infrastructure Engineers, ) with vendors, train users, and give instructions. Must be able to to work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds in a team environment.
  2. Strong customer service mindset.
  3. Ability to adapt and learn quickly
  4. Ability to work independently, make decisions and effectively prioritize work without being given direction.
  5. Ability to coach and develop engineering team.  Attention to quality and capacity to meet deadlines.
